Former Village Street Foreman, Ron Hafner, found a deceased official black squirrel this spring in one of our parks....no doubt he died of the love and affection showered upon him by the many residents who have fed him over the years. He does appear to be very old, having lived a long and happy life here in Glendale. Because so many people are so curious about our black squirrels, we have had a taxidermy preserve him for all to see what they look like up close. He is now in the Village Office, greeting all visitors, and is the first thing you see when you walk in.
